OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT- Gabriel Medina confirms participation at Round 3
Gabriel Medina has confirmed that he will compete on Round 3 from the initial stage of Championship Tour, in Gold Coast, Australia. After winning the battery from his debut, the 2014 World Champion left the sea limping, sooner then he made an evaluation with the WSL´s doctors.
He has suffered an injury on the left knee, after he came back from an aerial maneuver, apparently without affecting his own ligaments. Then he returned on the seas to surf again in a high level, being considered one of the best performances from the round.
He was medicated, putting ice in the injury spot and now he´s resting. “I feel fine, resting well and I´ll be able to surf on the next round”, announced Medina already at home, along with his dad and coach, Charles Saldanha Rodrigues.
Gabriel competed on battery 4, adding 16,50 points in the two best waves, beating his compatriot and friend, Wiggolly Dantas (who even helped him in the exit of the palanque) and the hawaiian Ezekiel Lau.
